AP courses for business colleges

I want to apply to a business college such as Ross School of Business or NYU Stern. I know it is good to take APs such as AP Calculus AB/BC/Multivariable, AP Macroeconomics, AP Macro, AP Stat, and others. However, what should I be taking in terms of History, Language, and Science. For instance, would a course like AP Euro or Bio be more beneficial during sophomore year? Should I take AP Language/Lit, Physics, or US History? I know they look at the difficulty of the courses but I’m just wondering if the course has an impact.

Does your school offer IB courses? IB Business Management would be a great choice for you if your school has it. AP Computer Science, either A or Principles, might be helpful for you too, business and CS are pretty well connected. I’m not sure which of those courses would be the best - I don’t really know a lot about business schools. Chinese is a very popular language in business though, so it would be very helpful to learn. Also, join DECA or FBLA if your school offers it. Good luck!

My daughter wants to go into business. She opted to go the dual enrollment route. She wants to do accounting but it is a bit different. For accounting they recommend not taking the most advanced accounting courses because there is an accreditation that requires advanced courses be taken at the school that grants the degree and she didn’t know if she’ll be going to a school with that accreditation.

Beside classes needed for graduation and college acceptance she has focused on general business electives some of which have ap options. She has taken (or will take this upcoming semester) classes such as principles of accounting 1 and 2 (and took two years of high school honors accounting prior to that), microeconomics, macroeconomics, intro to business, business law, intro to statistics, corporate finance, marketing etc.

She has taken Calculus, Intermediate Spanish etc. For science she was told 3 to 4 lab science classes (depending on school) but that which class it is doesn’t matter. Some on the environmental science classes cover some business topics based on descriptions. For history colleges she talked to said just take the history needed to graduate - they just want 3 traditional US/World history classes and 1 elective which they often classify economics as a history elective. English she took college writing 1 and 2. There were several people who suggested sociology over psychology for business but no idea why.

Even if your a freshman you or your parents can call admissions to see if they have recommendations.
