Ok, so I have some AP credit from high school for a few courses. My community college gave me some credit for each respective passing score, and my question is should we have indicated the courses we got credit for on the application? I didn't do that and im in at UCSD so im a little concerned.

Anyone know if it would look weird if these courses suddenly showed up on the official transcript after submitting them to our potential schools? I know that these courses do not show up on the unofficial transcript that I can access online.

At my CC campus, they were not allowed to post the credit units for the AP tests that I had taken thus far (until after Fall semester), so I didn’t report them for my application or the UC Davis TAG, but my counselor did write them a note to let them know it was the CC’s policy. But if they gave you the credit…I see no reason why you didn’t put it on your application…o__O;; You did put it on the AP Test scores in the application, right? If you did, then I’m sure there’s no problem. [:

mm, haha the application asked for the courses by term, so I didn’t feel that it was appropriate to put them there.

I did put the scores on the ap test section though. I hope it’s no big deal.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. LOL. Then you should be fine. They know that those would count for credits! (I have a friend who works at admissions for UCSD). Don’t sweat it! [:

haha alright, thanks

Wait up, got another issue.

From UCSD TAG online:

2.Complete the required courses in English composition (two courses designated as UC-E on the UC Transfer Course Agreement) and mathematics (one course designated as UC-M on the UC Transfer Course Agreement) with C grades or better by the end of Fall 2008 for Fall 2009 admission.

Alright, so basically, I was given ENGL 1B (which is UC-E designated) credit for my ap test score from AP Lit and Comp, and I took ENGL 1C and got an A in my first semester at CC. Now, I’ve been accepted with TAG through UCSD, but technically, I don’t have a grade for the ENGL 1B course. I’m taking ENGL 1A right now, but primarily just because the med schools I want to go to don’t accept AP credit. So the kicker is, given my situation, would it seem like a problem later on since our admissions are provisional? Engl1a wouldn’t count since im taking it after fall 2008, and my engl1b has no grade, just credit; all that and I’ve been accepted to ucsd already with TAG according to the provisional agreement.

lol I submitted my sir already too, if I get screwed I guess i’ll have to wait for cal, la, or irvine.

I’m sure it won’t be a problem.

Even though we have stated that we have completed the English classes required for that specific guideline, I think UCSD (or all the UCs for that matter) gives out another form (before you actually transfer) to verify that those English classes are the equivalent to the UC English Composition courses and since you passed one with the AP Test, they won’t verify that, they just need your official AP scores from CollegeBoard…Really, don’t worry. LOL. They’ll work with you, they’re not trying to lose a student. Hahaha. If you’re really THAT worried, I would e-mail admissions and let them know what’s up…[:

haha alright, I’ll just trust you.

LOLOL.

Best of luck at SD. It’s lovely, I live in San Diego. [: If I don’t get into Cal, might decide on UCSD too!

very nice very nice, both seem like good choices.
