Just put AP credit in the search box on the osu.edu website and you will get the results for what is needed for AP credit. To help you out here are the relevant links:

[Testing Center](http://registrar.osu.edu/testing/advancedplacement.asp) This link explains what you need to do to receive AP credit. If you received the “right” AP score be sure to have collegeboard send your scores to OSU. Scores must come from collegeboard for you to receive credit.

Office of the University Registrar - The Ohio State University; Go to page 8 where it lists what score you need for each AP class for credit to be awarded by OSU.

Once you have sent your scores to OSU; start monitoring your file on buckeye link which will take you to your academic center. Log in with your OSU password and osu email. Here is the link: [Students - Buckeye Link - The Ohio State University](<a href=“Web Login Service | The Ohio State University”>http://buckeyelink.osu.edu/)
The website is offline right now but if I remember correctly click through “my student center” and look under credits for transfer credits. When you scores have been received and if the right score you will see at this spot the transfer credits listed.

OSU is very good at giving AP credit. My DS went in with almost Soph status since he had 40 units of AP credit.

Pretty much you need to get at least a 3 on exams to get any kind of credit. If you are worried about tanking your GPA taking hard AP classes, you could also try taking the regular classes and self-studying for the AP exams. My daughter did this for US History and got a 4 on the AP which gave her some humanities credits at her college.

OSU awards pretty normal credit for AP classes but it may or may not be useful depending on your major. For instance, son got credit for a year of normal physics but not for the engineering physics that he needed for his major.

OSU also offers the option of departmental testing for some classes. For instance, you can self-study for psychology, take a departmental exam for $50 and get credit for the course if you pass. I don’t know anyone who has done this, but it is an option.

fair warning though, OSU limits the amount of credit hours you can receive from AP credit. You can only recieve 45 quarter hours (= about 1 year of credit hours) for the classes.

Oops. I checked the Testing Center site and it is actually $60 (not $50) to test out of some classes at OSU. It’s still cheaper than an AP test although you have to teach yourself the material.

The site also says that there is a 45 qtr hour limit for EM credit (credit by examination). However, my son has 55 hours of EM credit on his transcript and I know that others have more than 45 hours too. So, I am not sure what they are actually limiting…

thanks! the em credit limits shouldnt really affect me…if i pass all of my tests this year (which is a huge IF…bio, eng, and calc bc are all stretches haha) i would have 45 credits
