AP Credit

Hey everyone..I was recently accepted to the college of engineering as class of 2016 and i had a few questions regarding AP credit for engineers. First things first..can a 4 or 5 on Lang & Comp test me out of an english class? The UMich site confused me because it broke down credit into each individual school..but for engineers the only classes were chem physics and calc, but it seemed weird they wouldn't award credit for english for engineers. Also, does michigan use SAT scores when it comes to placement? FOr example, is there anyway I could test out of all english classes with a CR score of 750 & Writing score of 760? (my cousin did it at Lehigh)

Thanks in advance everyone!

Go Blue!

Michigan engineering does not require any English courses to graduate. The AP credits that you might receive for English (probably 3 or 4 credits) will just fulfill some of your SS/HU requirements.

So you’re telling.me if I major in engineering at Michigan I don’t need to take amy English classes during my four years? So no composition classes either?

bump 10 char

That’s right, just as j89 said.

Omg that’s amazing! I figured for sure they would require a first year composition at least
