If I do well enough on some of my AP tests that I can get credit, how does it show up on my college transcript? Does my grade from high school transfer onto my college transcript somehow? Or does it not show up as having a grade?

What college are you in? The policies may be different for each -I know for sure in Arts and Science, AP tests, the score you got (1-5), and the equivalent number of credits received show up, but it doesn’t affect your GPA.

Your AP grade will not show up on your college transcript. You have to check your specific college’s requirements, but you get an equivalent “credit value” based on your score. For example, I think a 4 on AP bio will show up as 4 credits on your transcript and a 5 will show up as 8 credits.

Maybe it’s different? On my transcript, each AP test shows up along with the Cornell course equivalent, the number of credits received, and instead of a grade, it shows my AP score.

It all depends on if your AP credit fits. My son got to use most of it towards his major - with hours and placement. He is a double major in ORIE and CS. His biology AP credit didn’t fit any where and his advisor didn’t give him credit in any area for that. It depends a lot on each individual situation.
