Hi everyone, I’m going to be attending Carnegie Mellon next fall and currently plan to double major in ChemE and BME (cellular and molecular biotechnology track). However, I looked at a sample curriculum and it looks like I’d have to take five or six engineering and science classes each semester, and maybe I’m unfamiliar with CMU’s classes but that sounds like a killer amount of work. Then there’s all the general education requirements. So, my questions are 1) To any CMU students doubling majoring in ChemE and BME, give me your thoughts about it!! and 2) Do AP credits count towards fulfuilling general ed requirements? I have a lot of ap credits going into college, so does that mean I wouldn’t have to take nearly as many of the gen ed requirements?
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance to anyone who answers!
