I'm a high school student who will be starting college next year. I'd like to double-major in English and either Bio or Cognitive Science (not sure about premed), but I'm not completely sure yet. I have 5s in US History, Psychology, and English Language as well as a 4 in European History and a 3 (didn't send) in Spanish Language. This year I'm taking AP Chem, Bio, English Lit, Calc, and American Government. My teachers prepare us really well in chem and calc so there is a good chance I will get 5s on them. I'm self-studying bio because my class is way behind and I'm thinking of taking English Lit even though my teacher is doing nothing to prepare us. Because I would like to double-major, I'm trying to figure out which classes I should use AP credits for and which I should bother to take the exams for this year. I figured the history and psych credits would be good to use for prerequisites, but I hear organic chemistry is really hard if I do well on chem and use the credits to get out of general chemistry. I've also heard general chem and intro bio are weed-out courses which are very challenging but get you used to college life. Which tests do you think I should take and should I use the credit given my interests? Please let me know if you've used APs to place out of classes and what your results were. Thanks!
