AP Credits?!?!

Does anyone have like a list of ap classes and scores that berkeley requires as a minimum to get any kind of credit (graduation/major)? I can't find it anywhere...

I need it too.

so far, I just know I need 5’s on my AP Lit and AP Calc BC test to skip some borefest classes.

This may be helpful, [Advanced Placement Examinations](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/faq/ap.html)

Good luck, hope things went well on calc bc and english lit, those are the most helpful classes in testing out of requirements.

What about for the CoE? Is it the same as L&S?

Hey, thanks for the Advanced Placement Examinations website, but I have no idea how to decipher what it’s saying o.O … help?

[College & University Resources Index — UC Berkeley College of Engineering](http://www.coe.berkeley.edu/students/college-and-university-resources.html)

Download the undergraduate handbook.

edit: this is for the College of Engineering, if you didn’t read the link.

^Thanks.

Quick question: for the government test is says “if a student receives a score of a three or better in both of the political science AP tests, the two scores taken together count as one of the lower division humanities course which may also be linked with an upper division political science course to satisfy the ‘series.’”

This is referring to the Comp Government exam and the US Government exam.

Does this mean I don’t get credit for only taking one test, I had to take both? I only took the US Gov exam…

Question about this too: [Advanced Placement Examinations](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/faq/ap.html) From what I get from this website, if I pass all my AP tests with a 3, I will enter UC Berkeley with 26.6 units. Is that right or am I missing something? This includes exams I’m taking my senior year. Thanks.

Does anyone know?

You get the units credit for taking just the Government class. You do NOT get to use those units to waive a breadth requirement unless you took both, but for the purposes of your standing (e.g. soph, etc) and for total unit requirements for graduation, you have those credits for the single AP.

Many get confused by this. The colleges list all the units that are credited to you on your transcript, day 1. It can give you earlier telebears appointments and let you graduate earlier. These are unconditional. If you got the minimum score for that test, you get the units credit.

AP tests can ALSO be used in lieu of takng specific courses at Cal - those would be classes that are a requirement for your major, for example, or pre-requisites to a class that you want to take. This is often more restricted. Some requirements cannot be waived by AP tests. The department that hosts a class is the one that makes the determination of whether an AP test will be accepted as if you took the class at Cal.

One final note. If you have AP unit credits but also take the equivalent class at Cal for credit, you don’t get to double count. The AP credits are removed once you pass the class.

AP units counted towards your degree requirements are a good thing with basically no downside.

Is it true that no matter what score i get for AP Macroeconomics, i’ll have to take the intro econ class at cal? someone told me that cal’s class is macro/micro so for me to get credit, i would have to take and pass both ap macro/micro…true?
