I have 19.5 hours of college credit already (2 classes from UC Irvine and 2 classes from Harvard) and I have taken 8 AP’s (4 this year and a 4,3,3,3 on my others). I was wondering if CAL will give me credit for my college credit and/or my AP scores. Also, do they have a cap on how much credit they will take?

heres a website to see how much credit you get http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/faq/ap.html

what classes from Harvard groovygrrl?

I took Law & Psychology and Human Development - I got B's in both

I took Intro to Phil and Women's Studies - hoping to get out of some GE's, but Berkeley is pretty strict about its Seven Breadth Requirement...

The L&S seven breadth requirement can be fulfilled by college classes from other schools, but not AP scores. Your AP scores won't get you out of many classes, but all the units will count.

awesome, thanks for the info BigBrother! :)

Does the same page apply for College of Engineering? I can't seem to find one for CoE.

hmmm, just use the L&S one, it should give you a rough estimate of what you have so far.....

you can get quite a bit of credit in the coe from ap's/cc classes

Right now I have 10 APs:
CompSci AB - 5
EngLang - 3
US History - 4
Calc AB
Spanish Lang
US Govt
MicroEcon
Physics
English Lit
Statistics

I'm fairly certain I'll get over a 3 in the rest, just trying to figure what I'll be able to get credit for.

I got a B in calculus during the summer and two As for business classes in community college. when i send in my college transcript can i just transfer the As? lol I took calculus BC in high school so...

you must send the entire transcript, especially if it was a class you put on your application

Because I took Calculus I over the summer between junior and senior year summer. I got a B in it.

Then right now, as a senior, I took Small Business Management and Introduction to Business. Got As in both.

I also took Calculus BC as a senior in high school. So if I pass the Calculus BC AP test, then will that B in Calculus I that I took over the summer count against my UC GPA when I send in my transcript? Because I want Small Business Management and Introduction to Business to beef up my application when I apply to Berkeley's Haas School of Management.

it wont matter, haas makes you take everything in berkeley again

I'm taking classes at a community college this year, so I've spent a lot of time researching what will transfer and what won't. A good resource is http://www.assist.org. It outlines classes that are gauranteed to transfer to each UC.

By the way, the grades don't move on to the UC transcript, only the credit, similar to AP scores.

For you engineering majors out there, here is the ap credit info for last years students. I would imagine it would be the same for this year as well.

(Save target as)
