AP Economics vs Principles of Economics

Hey fellow CCers,

Right now, I have the option of either self-studying both AP economics, or taking Principles of Economics, which covers both macro and micro economics, at Harvard SSP for credit.

My question is that which would be a better option? Most top ranking schools DO NOT accept credit transfer/advanced standing for college courses finished before matriculation; if I were to take Principles of Economics at Harvard SSP, I wouldn’t be able to transfer the credit after entering college.

In this case, aren’t I better off taking the AP economics exams(given that I will study my gluteus maximus off for 5s), thus receiving advanced standing in college?

Thanks guys.

I think it is better to take AP Micro and Macro, considering that they will not only help you on your univ resume, but also univ credits (if you get a 4 or 5 that is).
