AP Eng Lit scoring guide

Anyone having the scoring guide for eng lit? Such as what number you multiply your essay score by, MC score by, etc. And also the ranges that give you each score.

the total score is out of 150. multiply essays by 3.0554. divide total number of MC questions on the test into 67.5, and that'll give you the MC multiplication constant. so, for example, since this year's MC had 55 questions, you would multiply your raw MC score by 1.227. A '5' is roughly 100/150...roughly

Essentially:

If you rock the MC but suck on the essays, you're getting a bad grade. (If you're average on the essays - say, all 5's - you'd have to get basically perfect on the MC to get a 5 overall.)

If you rock the essays (7+ on all) but don't do so hot on the MC, it really doesn't matter much, and you'll still probably get a 5.

I hate how your grade for this test is so dependent on how nice your reader's feeling that day.

Ouch. aphoticmelody, you totally killed my buzz... I rocked the MC but totally messed up on most essays (I felt as though I was writing middle school caliber work). Damn. I really want a 4 for college credit...

-The Rocking Coot66

If you read sample essays, 5 seems like really unimpressive writing.

I hope they buy my BS, because my overall writing is solid

bobbo07, really? I have the ap english book from d&s marketing, and the sample essays that get 5's are pretty impressive if you ask me, just a little underdeveloped.

Anyone want to tell me if this range chart looks accurate.
101-150 = 5
80-100=4
65-79=3
50-64=2
0-49= 1
