AP English Lit on Thursday

Honestly what the **** was that. The MC was harder than I expected and this is making me very worried. I usually can identify what questions I get right on tests but I couldn’t feel it with Lit.

The essays were not bad.

I really hope I get a 5.

I spy some people talking about the prompts!!!
You guys better edit those posts or something before your tests get invalidated.

Also, I’m pretty sure if the AP Lit was a human being, I would be charged with Manslaughter and sentenced to jail for life with no chance for parole.

Essays are my strong point, multiple choice was horrible. I wrote 4 pages for the first and third prompt and 3 pages for the second.

Well I’m passed the point of editting, anyway if any moderators see my post ignore them/ or delete them please ><

MC was pretty doable, probably 5-8 wrong. I didn’t find the last poem too hard, but maybe I misinterpreted it…the hardest one was the one about Ulysses, but it all clicked after a 2nd read

BTW, anyone else loved the woman who ravishes you by simply reading verse?

Essays were pretty straightforward, so I hope for at least 6 6 7. All were around 3 pages. For the 3rd, I used Heart of Darknes, but had a 5 line 2nd body paragraph and a one page conclusion(that discussed meaning of the work as a whole) so hopefully I won’t fail that.

If M.C. was a person, he would been charged with attempted murder but F.R. would be thanked for saving my life :)

btw did anyone else think Death of a Salesman was a good book

Overall, I thought the test was very easy.

Multiple Choice: ~50 out of 55
Question 1: ~7 (wrote 3.5 pages)
Question 2: ~7 (wrote 3.5 pages)
Question 3: ~8 (wrote 5 pages)

Total Composite: 126/150 = 5

Pretty sure I got a 5.

what exactly did you guys put or interpreted for Question 1?

If someone can send me a message telling me what they thought of Question 1 xD

I talked about personification, rhyme scheme, and irony. I hope I did well.

I used diction and rhyme, and i briefly mentioned irony in two of my paragraphs yet my thesis didn’t include irony. Is that bad?

i messed up on the mc…if i somehow did really well on the mc maybe 30 right then i have a shot at a 4 cause i think my essays were pretty well written.
but i think my scores at a solid 3. sigh…looks like im taking expos. :’(

If you briefly mentioned it, you’re fine. The AP readers know you only had 40 minutes to complete the essay; they are not expecting a perfect essay.

I talked about apostrophe, caesura, and irony for Q1. Also, for Q2, did any of you guys know that apparently Perfecto was an allegory for Jesus? I totally missed out on that one, but now it makes so much sense.

No, I did not get that; however, I did compare the passage to Jane Eyre. Hopefully, that will earn a bonus point!

I used anaphora, paradox, and alliteration.

MC was fine. I actually thought the most difficult one was the grief one >_>
I wrote the open response first on Heart of Darkness and it was like 3 pages. Then I did the poetry essay and wrote on personification, repetition, and irony and that was 2 pages. Then I totally rushed the hell out of my cheesy prose essay which was also 2 pages. Christ I don’t know how you guys write so much unless you just all have big handwriting.
I’m predicting a 4-low 5

MC was okay, should have around 45-50. Poetry was easy, they handed you the message: I used repetition, diction, and paradox. The second story was a little harder, but not bad. Third one was awesome, because I just did a project on Death of a Salesman so it fit perfectly :)

I love the Grief MC section but the Frog was like “uh ok?” So I’m guessing at least a 50% on MC. All my essays were 2 pages so maybe that’s a minus. I did well on the poem essay but the long story was really hard to manage a theme. The pick-a-story prompt was probably the trickest as I had read none of the story that was listed but “The Kite Runner” manage to help me out on that one (thank you AP Lit teacher!)

Predict at least a 3 shooting for a 4.

Do you guys think Frankenstein by Mary Shelley was an appropriate book? I could of done invisible man… but well… I didn’t.

@Raamzic it all depend on how you manage to connect it with the question(prompt) they ask you to do.
