I've been going overboard with posting threads lately...

Anyway for my senior schedule which class should I take? People will flock to say AP because it's ~AP~ but I'm an EIC of my school's newspaper and it counts as an honors class. I've been in it for two years so far. Is a college going to think I'm demented because I chose the "less advanced" class?

I'd really rather take both but my schedule isn't going to allow it.

What I’m about to say is really cliche but… Pick the one that interest you the most. AP English Lit is a LOT of reading, and some writing. You’ll be mainly discussing literature and writing about them. Right now, none of my friends have taken Journalism, but It sounds fun. My dad minored in Journalism and he said it’s fun to look, discuss and write many different things.

In my honest opinion, being EIC of your school’s paper is more impressive on a college app. It shows leadership, dedication to your school’s paper [2+ years now? ], … plus you’re doing tons of writing and editing in journalism so it’s pretty rigorous [ especially if you do late nights… ah those get crazy]

I’m in AP Lit and I’m one of many editors for my school paper [… the art/illustrations editor… ]

AP Lit for sure. If you’re already EIC of your school newspaper, a high school journalism class won’t do much for you, whereas AP Lit will greatly improve your reading and writing. It’s an amazing class if taught by the right person and AP > Honors in the eyes of college adcoms.
