I don't like reading...I hate reading. But I'm signed up for the class because I know you have to read a lot in college.

Am I making a big mistake? I HATE reading...how hard is this class?

I'm more of a writer, got an A in AP language and comp test and a 4 on the ap comp test.

Will I be fine, honestly? Or should I switch into Honors English 12 for senior year?

Did I mention I hate reading though??? I think the class will be beneficial, but then again, we're having a test on the first day of school on some ridiculously long, Odyssey type book.

I'm scared. The teachers said they would give me 40 pages of reading a night. I can't switch out after the school year starts. Should I stay in it and tough it out or just relax, take it easy, and going into Honors English 12 (which on the other hand, would also be a lot of work):/

Idk what to do. At my school the guidance counselors DO NOT let you switch out after the class has began.

Lol just 40 a day?

Take the class, it will be a challenge. You need to challenge yourself and overcome any difficulty, and doing this class will be very beneficial. First, you’ll be able to take an AP Class, which looks great on your app. Second, by the time that you end this class, you will find that you overcame an immense difficulty; that’ll give you a great life experience. In life, it’s all about overcoming tough difficulties. Third, you will be reading difficult books that help develop your vocabulary. With vocabulary, you can write an excellent essay, make the interviewers go wow, and it’ll help you in life too. Fourth, you are an extremely lucky person to be able to attend school. You have so many resources to learn. Many children in developing countries crave so much to learn, but they can’t because either they won’t be able to afford it or because they are girls who are very likely to get killed or raped by their oppressive society if they try to get an education. So don’t complain, make the best of your education, use all your possible resources, and strive to accomplish as much as you can. You are so lucky to have the privilege of education, so again, make the most of it. Take that AP class, and rock it.

I feel the same way. Ugggh. Best grade in my school for AP Lang class, but I HATE reading. But I don’t have an honors class I can switch into, it’s AP or general English.

Anyways. As crappy as the class will be, I’m going to suck it up because it means I’ll never have to take an English class again. I’d much rather have one hard, crappy year my senior year than have to take a class I’ll hate almost as much my senior year PLUS a class I’ll hate in college. So I recommend you just suck it up for a year and get it over with.
