AP Enviromental

Hello everyone,
So next year, as a junior, I have the choice to take one AP science, either Environmental, Bio, Chem, or Physics (not taking physics). I choose environmental because out of all my friends at my school who have taken 2 or 3 AP sciences, environmental is the easiest out of the four. I decided to take this one because science isn’t my strongest subject and I don’t want to ruin my GPA. Is it true that colleges will look down upon this because I am taking an easier course? Should I take Bio (my second choice instead)? I plan on taking Bio senior year, but I was thinking it would be nice having the easier one first since junior year is an important year.

Please let me know what you think!
Thank you

P.S. I am required to take an AP science, I can’t take an honors class.

@IvyLeaguer225 Not sure what major your are thinking about in college but I think AP environmental is a good choice. Don’t take an AP that doesn’t interest you because it will make the class tougher. Put the time in and score high on the APES AP exam (4 or 5) and you should be fine. Colleges don’t want to see you take APs just to take APs. You have to do well.

Agreed. AP ES is a bit easier than AP Bio, but it really will make no difference in the admissions process. Colleges want to make sure you are challenging yourself. It’s not like you are asking if it is better to take APES or “Rocks For Jocks.”

Additionally, it makes no difference if you take AP Bio as a junior or a senior. You are still expected to take challenging courses your senior year.
