Ap Environmental Science 2011 Official Thread!!

YESSS got the diseases right… wasn’t there one with fish too?

Yes. Minamata Diesease. But they listed that above
Good job on the test though!

Redsoxrbest, I got the exact same answers for the math, so at least you have someone to back you up!

I had the opposite impression from most people - I felt the MC was incredibly hard and the free response was incredibly easy.

I love it when things just fall into place. I studied one topic the day before: salinization. All the others I knew. I had to guess on 3-5 MCs, but I got 2+ right. Hit every point on every essay.

First self-studied AP. 4 hours total of prep + 2 mocks. Extremely confident that I’ll get a 5. WOOO! 3 left…

What were the four FRQ’s questions??

can we compare now that the 48 hours are up?

^yeah you can

No, I didn’t mean am I allowed to?
I meant, like… will people compare with me now?
 Sorry for stalking, but are the people whose schools were closed just taking the make up?

yep. but College Board is making every single one of us pay an ADDITIONAL $40 per test even though the circumstances were beyond our control…

UGH! that’s absolutely horrible.
College Board, just making their money. Good luck, though.

can someone explain #2? when do the answers go up?

Yeah, I want to know when they go up.
And I would like an explanation too.

So did anyone else think for question #6, that either answer was sustainable given the correct response? I know alot of people had picked sugarcane, but I chose sand tars because its only use is a fuel source, while Sugarcane is a food source as well. You think that’s ok?

Don’t tar sands take millions of years to develop, (non-renewable) while sugar can can be grown every year, making sugarcane significantly more sustainable?

Yeah, sugarcane was the sustainable one

it said justify, so as long as you gave good reasons, either could technically be right.

^ojo

I haven’t heard any justifications that would make tar sands more sustainable yet…

Self studying went quite well. I felt prepared, especially for the free response! Hopefully a 4!

Anybody else taking the late test?

Anyone wants information about the Biology olympiad: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sciences/1144884-official-usabo-2012-discussion-3.html
