ap equivalents

if i have exhausted the major aps in my school and find nothing else that interests me. could i take courses at a community college to demonstrate that i still have a rigorous courseload?

i took 5 aps last year as a jr. but now im only taking 2 aps as a sr. im currently enrolled in 2 college courses outside school. is that ok?

thanks for the help guys!

yes, taking courses in colleges will boost your courseload.
it may even show some sort of initiative? <-- not sure about that though

While taking outside classes would show that you're still actively learning, you could also use your extra time in another way, by participating in clubs or sports or something like that. I had a lot of free time my junior year and got actively involved in debate and robotics, and this was infinitely more rewarding than taking community college classes would have been. Senior year, I took some AP classes but continued to be involved in my clubs, and I had a fun senior year instead of bashing myself over the head with more work.

Then again, if you're truly interested in the college classes and aren't just taking them because you're afraid that it's going to look like you're slacking in your senior year, go for it! Learning is fun too :)

so as long as im spending my time on something academic and interesting colleges appreciate it?
