Ap Euro FRQs

How do you write the best thesis? I am really confused. I have an essay test which I need to prepare for but I do not know how to write a thesis. Please give me tips.

For AP Euro FRQ (and DBQs), the thesis should usually list your 3 elements that you want to back your position. Introductions, overall, should be kept short yet concise to the point. General rule of thumb: No more than 3 sentences.

Here’s an example from the 2009 AP European History DRQ (<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board). The thesis provided is exactly what I wrote for the exam.

1. Analyze attitudes toward and evaluate the motivations behind the European acquisition
of African colonies in the period 1880 to 1914.

In the 19th century, Europe began to look towards Africa to acquire territories for many purposes. The attitudes and reactions from this can be see both positive and negative. Based on writings, the causes and responses can be associated with political, expansion, and civilization motives

The bolded part is the thesis. The introduction is short, yet gets to the point. That’s how you should write it. Readers want to see that you categorized your argument into three categories.

Thnks Wil. That really helps.
:)

For thesis our teacher recommended:

1.Answer all questions
2.3 groups
3.Don’t restate the question
4.Take a stance (was it a good impact or bad impact dont just say it had an impact on something)
