Okay I know about the 1DBQ and the 2 FRQs But like how does it go? Do you just get the whole 130min to do them all or is it broken up and you are only allowed a certain amount of time for each of the 3 essays?

The proctor lets you know when the suggested time is up, but you can work on any section of the written portion you want during the 130 minutes. It gives the times collegeboard’s website for how long the suggested time is, but I cannot remember what they are.

You can write whatever you want whenever you want within those 115 minutes. The first 15 minutes are for reading the prompts and DBQ documents, so you can’t write anything.

So basically:

15 minutes: Read and plan
115 minutes: Write

Recommended times:

15 minutes: Read and plan (you can plan longer if you need to)
45 minutes: Write DBQ
35 minutes: Write FRQ 2, 3, or 4
35 minutes: Write FRQ 5, 6, or 7

Wait so you can’t write in the first 15 min!? Like if you do, do they count it has cheating?

Well, you probably don’t want to speed read through the DBQs…

Yes. If they catch you writing in the pink response booklet in the first 15 minutes, they’ll report you and your scores will likely be canceled.

Let me clarify, though. You will get a green booklet with the prompts and the documents. You can write in that during the first 15 minutes. You just can’t write anything in the pink response booklet.
