This is my only AP class but I'm already freaking out...

Is there a way to take notes effectively? It seems like i've been taking notes, notes, notes, but I don't feel like I'm learning much... Also, are there effective ways to study for tests/quizzes? Just memorizing the facts is not helping me at all... I'd really appreciate some help since I'm feeling like I've met a dead end...

I dont think taking notes will really help for apec. I took apec last year and we never took notes in class. you should try to connect all the events together (cause and effect) and do terms while you read the chapters.
And for course outline essays that are given to you (will definitly help you on the free-response essays). And you have to know the time period and dates espeicially the most importatn events.

read you r notes everyday, actually learn from your teacher on ow to take notes, sometimes students take notes with superflous info (like me) and waste time memorizing that.

I never took any notes whatsoever when I did Euro, and I aced the subject. Probably won't work for you, but what I did was just analyze the stuff learned in the text with prior concepts, such as connecting the Hapsburgs with economics, and etc.

My teacher made us memorize the map of Europe so we would know exactly where each country was in relation to another, and I thought it was a huge waste of time at the time, but at the end of the course, I was really surprised at how much the geographical knowledge helped me understand the "big picture" of what was going on in Europe during different time periods.

I'm really horrible at geography and probably wouldn't be able to read a map correctly to save my life, so learning the map of Europe helped me a lot.

CliffsAP has got good notes and its chronology rocks. Plasti-tak, I am thinking of doing that too! I get lost w/ Prussia, Austria, Hapsburg! I just can't study them at all! I am trying to get over this! I love to learn about Fra, Eng, (all the western parts). yeah, just have an idea of the date. Learn in terms of century (if u can't remember dates like 1770s or 1490s, yeah, it's tough and I would probably cram w/ such stuffs) Also do study some characters (of Renaissance, Romanticism, like for major events)
PR Review book is not a bad deal either.
Hope that helps.

My AP Euro class was a beast. The best thing you can do to study is to make different lists. Treaties/documents, artists/writers, and lots of social history. If you pay a lot of attention to different social classes, you'll do well, as far as in my experience.
