AP European History Post Test

@Smarty; I think you’re right. Monet’s painting represented that the middle class had fun. I also put the illegitimate one for James I. and Charles I.

And for the DBQ I had 3 groups;

  1. Equality
  2. Govt. Interference - I explained that there were moderate ones and then moved on to radical ones who wanted full out revolution and socialism.
  3. Laissez Faire Economics

What thoughts do you have about my groupings? Is that ok? I ended up writing about 6 pages for the DBQ and around 2 pages for the other ones.

My groups were:

  1. Laissez-faire docs 1,2
  2. Unity docs 4,9
  3. Equality docs 5,11,12
    were these good groups?

@Smarty: For the Nazi ideology question, my three talking points were their rejection of the Versailles treaty (because that affected their reparations payments to the Entente powers), their desire to unite all German people in one country (taking the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia, etc), and how they wanted to make Germany a great power again (remilitarizing and invading Poland).

I thought the multiple choice wasn’t that bad–I took a lot of practice tests, and the questions on the actual test were by and large easier. The DBQ wasn’t a great one for me and I forgot to really stress bias, but I did have three groups and a pretty coherent essay, so that’s something.
The FRQs were a dream come true, imo. I did 3 and 6, and neither of them were the ones that when I was studying I thought, “I really hope there’s an FRQ about this.” But it turns out I know quite a few random facts about Reformation art and music, and even though my class skipped outlining the WWII chapter, I apparently got it well enough. :)

Overall I’m feeling good about the test. Now it’s just waiting until July…

@stgpepper

I thought ideology meant racism, facism, and what not?

Because I discussed everything you did! I explained how germany needed help from their destruction & Treaty of versailles… Ect. I hope you’re right :D

the dbq was so easy i just grouped them by country because they followed the same trend in most countries in france it was mainly socialist reformers in england it was mainly asking for universal manhood suffrage n germany was a little ew. but it was super easy it was the thing i had studied the night of. i did frqs 4 n 7 n the mc was super easy

@Smarty: I think it just means anything they believed in/the Nazi party platform. At least I hope that’s what it is, or else I’m screwed! XD
Just looked it up on dictionary.com because I got worried, and I think we’re good. :)

For the DBQ, I did three major groupings.

laissez-faire (divided into subgroups for/against)

Unity

equality/suffrage

Does everyone has the same version? I thought the questions on the m/c are mixed around?

Also for the #4 FRQ, I had three groupings

Rights and equality

The Church

Napoleon’s foreign affairs
and conquering

I did #4 and #6.

In 4, I talked about standardization of daily life (metric system, common currency, weights and measures - kinda BS’d this part) as promoting unity, then attacks on the Church as shifting people’s allegiance from being Catholic to being French, then expansionism and how the French began to gain pride from Napoleon going to war with all of Europe.

In 6, I wrote about the anger at Germans being forced to pay reparations and how the Nazis used that anger and funneled it into national pride, the Ausschluss (which I probably spelled wrong every time) and Hitler’s desire to absorb Austria, and of course the idea of a superior German/Aryan race.

I was really relieved by having FRQs that I knew enough about - my biggest fear in preparation was not knowing anything about any of the 3 choices and having to BS my way through it. (The topic for a practice FRQ my class did was about factors hindering German unification in 1500s and 1600s, and when I talked about religion I included something about the Great Schism …)

I think I did extremely well on the multiple choice section. Unfortunately, I’m not a good essay writer under pressure and ended up writing some really bad essays :/. Not that fast of a writer either, time was called before I could finish my third paragraph of the DBQ (I finished the other essays) :frowning: . My teacher didn’t help us prepare for the FRQ section at all, we only did a few thematic and 1 DBQ essay all year, and those weren’t even under testing conditions. I guess I can say goodbye to any chance of a 5 :frowning: .

@Chapen

Are you serious? My class did around 8 DBQ’s all year and around 15 FRQ’s… However all the focus on essays lead to little focus on the MC, which we only took 3 tests as a class and i took an additional 3 on my own with Review Books and released exams

Does everyone have the same version? Or are the multiple choice out of order? Cause my friend and I discussed the m/c… & she was like the first m/c was so easy! & I was like… Oh yeah I think I put A but she said she put C. & I’m pretty sure I’m right!?

Also, what did u guys put for the Vietnam war question?

For my FREs I did #4 and 6.
For #4, I wrote about how the Fall of the Bastille and the Women’s March on Versailles promoted national unity for one paragraph, about how Robespierre’s Reign on Terror brought people together (this paragraph was pretty BS), and wrote about how Napoleon’s Wars spread French culture and their victories made them proud to be French.

For #6 my entire essay was based on German racism and their belief that they are the superior race. I wrote the first paragraph about their alliances (Italy and Japan) and their willingness to ally themselves with Great Britain. I wrote my second paragraph about the lebensraum and their reasons for breaking the 1938 nonagression pact with the Soviet Union, and my third paragraph was about the Holocaust and their policy of extermination.

Any thoughts? I’m not sure if a lot of my ideas are correct, especially for #4.

@bob

I almost wrote the exact same examples for 4 and 6!!! I don’t know if the examples for 4 are correct, and I kinda bs through that essay too…

Does

Ho chin Min sound familiar to you guys? Did you guys put that?

@smarty

I couldnt decide between ho chin min and the US troops one. I put the US troops one but it seems it was the wrong answer. :(

^ ehh i might be wrong too D:

What did you guys put for FRQ #7?
