AP exam rankings(personal rankings)

Here are my rankings, from hardest to easiest:

0) AP English Literature -- I haven't taken it yet, but based on the practice tests our teacher gave us, the free-response is a killer, especially with the time limit.
1) AP Bio -- lots of material, spent lots of time studying. Essays can be rather random. MC is easy though
2) AP Physics B -- time-intensive course, but once you learn all the material, you could get a 5 blindfolded
3) AP Comparative Government -- yeah, all my friends got 2s.
4) AP US Government -- same, all my friends got 2s. It probably had something to do with the "four-teachers-in-one-year" factor.
5) AP Statistics -- Only hard because people blow it off and think it's easy.
6) AP Physics C -- really easy course, but then again, I took Physics B before Physics C, so that helped a lot.
7) AP Calc BC -- so 40% of people get a 5 on this?
8) AP Chemistry -- easiest AP test I've ever taken. ever. ever.

I got 5s on all of these freshman and sophomore year except English Literature, which I haven't taken yet.

Hardest to easiest
1) AP US History- lots of info, but ridiculously lenient curve though, but 3 essays can be a pain in the a$$
2) AP Calculus BC- easy/ big curve
3) AP Chemistry- easy/ big curve
4) AP Statistics- easy

lol

People say IB Math HL is actually harder than AP Calculus BC

[/quote]

It is. Don't even get me started on IB Further Maths SL. It's like the equivalent of AP Calculus GH. Not even joking.

I have only taken practice tests, but for me it is:

Hard-APUSH-There's so much to remember, and the DBQ's can be tricky. It is also not the most exciting subject matter.

Easy-AP US Govt.-Very easy to learn. I don't have the best teacher, but I passed a practice AP test on the first day of class.

for me, biology was definitely the easiest. i had an amazing teacher and i remembered everything from day 1 (and i still do to this day). we were able to predict the essays and the MC was so easy. but i like science and hate history, so it may just be me. i got a 5 on the exam

AP lang was harder for me since i had to cram with weekend before and my teacher didnt teach us anything for the entire year. the MC devoured me alive

Hmm.. out of the 14 AP's I have taken throughout my high school career.. I'd say that my ranking system would be different from some of the other ones here.

Extremely Hard: AP Spanish Language

Pretty Hard: AP Calculus BC, AP Biology

Moderate: AP European History, AP English Literature, AP Chemistry

Moderate/Easy: AP Calculus AB, AP US History, AP Physics B, AP Statistics

Easy: AP Environmental Science, AP US Government and Politics, AP Psychology, AP English Language

Lol, I learned last year (at least for me..) there is a big difference in difficulty between BC Calc and AB Calc.

The AP Lang test is hard because they grade on a bell curve, meaning even if you were 5 material, only so many people could get that score.

bell curve? so other ones have different ways to curve?

I know that the difficulty and curve for all the SATs are determined before the test is administered, so maybe that's another way to curve. With language APs, it's a bit harder to predetermine a curve, so I guess the best thing for them to use would be the bell curve.
