Hey everyone! I just got my scores back today and I was just wondering if we are able to delete the ones we did bad on? Also, if we retake exams next year, will the previous scores show up? Thanks!

Send scores to the college you are planning to attend; anything else is a waste of money. If you send the scores, the College Board sends them to the registrar(s), and admissions never sees them. Scores are self-reported on the common app. You choose which AP scores to send, so you can omit the lower score from being sent if you retake the exam.

@skieurope So if I pick and choose which scores to send when I apply to colleges, the colleges will never see the scores I don’t put? And also regarding retaking tests: so you’re saying if you retake a test and do better you cn get rid of the lower one?

Correct
No, the lower score still exists; you just don’t send the lower score to your college.

@skieurope But don’t some colleges not allow self-reporting?

Not that I’m aware of. Certainly none of the ones at which I’m looking. Someone can certainly correct me if I’m wrong.

I know some scores won’t accept self-reported scores, only official reports… but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I believe George Mason is like that, possibly many schools that don’t use common app.

I believe that most accept self-reported initially, but if you end up going there, you then have to send an official report if you want to get credit. If you don’t want to get credit for it, you shouldn’t have to send the report.
