Hey. Can I register for an AP exam if i don't take the class in school? Will it make a difference to colleges how many ap exams I've taken?

yes. no. colleges care about the class, not the exam. Taking the exam without the class will only get you college credit. It doesn’t increase your course rigor or add a boost to your application. The only self studies that are truly worth it IMO is if the course is not offered at your school, but you are really interested in the course.
