In my Common App, I said I would take the AP Exams. Unfortunately, due to a technical problem in our school, I am not able to take them. Will this affect my acceptance? For your information, I am already accepted to UCLA and Michigan. I also got an LL from Cornell, although I am still waiting the final decision this Friday.

It may also be of interest to note that my school MAY NOT want to mention that they had a technical problem and could not offer AP to protect their reputation. This means that I MIGHT be alone if I am asked for an explanation by the college.

Just because the school isn’t willing to doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t tell the truth. The school is trying to look out only for itself, you have every right to do the exact same.

And to be honest, I don’t think colleges will even care in the first place, even if they do ask for official AP score reports after they accept students.

The college won’t much care, it were you counting on those ap test scores to get you college credit? They only care about the scores at that point if you are getting class credit.

For my daughters those six extra credits pushed them ahead when it came to registering for classes down the road.

If this is important, I would find a way to take the text and notifiy whomever I needed to see if I could take test at another school. I would even check that out anyway, to cover my bases, but it won’t be an issue.
