My son is a rising high school senior. He has taken 5 AP exams and made 5's on all. Should he send reports to the colleges that he wants to attend?

Only send the official report to the college he decides to attend.

In the application process, there is a space to self-report on the Common App and if you think it’ll be helpful (perhaps to explain grade deflation?) you can report it in the Additional Information section of an individual school app.

^^I agree. My kids self reported on the apps then sent the scores to the college they are attending. For senior APs the kids don’t even have the scores until mid-summer before they head off. Check the website to see how they use the scores. Some college give actual credit, some use them in lieu of placement tests or to place the kids in the correct sections or classes and some only use specific AP classes for credit. It can vary college to college.

You don’t need to send official reports, self-reporting is fine. When he knows where he’s going to college he can send the official report then.

I would recommend self-reporting five 5’s. These scores can only help. :)

Five 5s is sweet - I would climb the highest mountain and shout.
