AP Human Geo advice

I got a 3 on the first practice test, but only got 26 right on the second. But only 3 people passed in the whole class for the second one, but he said that was harder than usual. But most got in the upper 30's. I'm not the best test taker & not gifted like most of the rest of the class. Any advice? I read every night, but don't really study. I just read, but I'm going to have a hard study session this weekend. :)

What practice tests are you using? Out of 75 MC questions, 26 correct seems rather poor. More than likely, however, the practice tests you are using are probably harder than the actual exam. I’m using Barron’s for Human Geography, and the practice tests are “harder” than usual, according to a rating thread here on CC.

He is picking the practice tests. The first one was Barron, which seemes pretty easy. I got a 3 on that. And the one that I did bad and everyone else did bad was: [Amazon.com: AP Human Geography w/ CD-ROM (REA) - The Best Test Prep (The Best Test Preparation for Advance Placement): Christian Sawyer: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Human-Geography-CD-ROM-REA-Preparation/dp/0738603716/ref=pd_sim_b_2/190-0074488-0631125)

bump…

Last year, I went through and memorized every vocab term in the Barron’s review book. I skipped half of an essay and got a 4. You might not have time for that, but read Barron’s cover to cover. It is a wonderful guide for AP Human. Definitely get as much exposure to the essays as you can. I get the feeling that an essay about Malthus is going to surface, so be sure to provide both sides of the pro- and con-Malthus argument.

Thanks Keasbey Nights for answering. I didn’t even know we had 3 essay’s, I thought we had one with three parts. I really need help with the vocab and I’m def. studying the models all this weekend. My teacher has the Barrons and he said not to get it, since we’ve done all of it in class.

Don’t listen to your teacher. Get the Barron’s. It is an amazing review guide. And as for the models, you can lay off a bit on Von Thünian and Burgess (concentric zone), for last year’s essay was on them. I have a gut feeling about something (either on the MC or FRQ) being related to Weber’s Least Coast Theory.

I absolutely loved AP Human, and I love how I still remember it all.

He already has the Barron’s book, and we took the tests. Should I still get a book now is it too late?

Yeah, you might as well. It provides handy vocabulary guides and end-of-the-chapter quizzes.

I’ll look at it.
