I just finished reading through the Barron's AP Human Geography Prep book. It seems very concise and straight forward.
What other study tool do I need to further prep for the exam this May? Should I check out some of the extended links at the back of each chapter (there are alot!)? If so which ones?

Is it possible to self-study that class?

You went through barrons?

Nothing else.....really.....

Just go through some actual MC from the tests....your teacher should have the released MC

What does MC stand for?

MC=multiple choice

Do i need to read the extended reading?

Does anybody know if i need to read the extended reading at the end of each chapter?

i really doubt it, the test is pretty straight-forward...or so i hear. i guess we'll find out.

are you taking the class or self-studying? either way, is it difficult to self-study for hum geo.?

I've heard one thing to do is have examples ready.

The test isn't supposed to be hard at all, mostly vocab based, but for some of the essays you have to give examples, and if you think they probably aren't that hard to come up with, but if you got a couple b4 hand, you'll probably feel alot more comfortable on the test.

Not to be discouraging, but I took the test last year, and Barron's was REALLY unhelpful. I did well on the test, but that's just because I used a good textbook (Rubenstein)

what?!

i have bot h rubenstein and barron :|...im counting on barron's why was it so bad?!?!

anxiety attack lol

The Barron's review book is really, really general. From what I've seen on the AP test, especially the free response sections, you're going to need to know specifics. For example, Barron's might give you a good definition of what a state, a nation and a nation-state are, but for the AP you're going to have to think of your own examples of each.

The problem is that Barron's is the only review book out there, and they only started offering Human Geo as an AP a few years ago, so there are few actual old APs out there we can see.

What does the Human Geo test really test?
Is it current events or all vocabulary, and what do you suggest we do to study for it?
Also, does anyone have the answers to the 2003 free-response questions as there are no answers on the college board website.

try AP central - all scoring guides are on the site

I have finished Barron's and I got 56/75 questions right on the test, would that be a 5?
Are the Barron's test accurate with the AP exam?

How long did it take you to finish reading barrons?

I read about a chapter a day, and each chapter took between 30-60 minutes.
It wasn't that much, but I don't know how hard the tests are compared to the real exam

I believe it is now possible to order the actual 2001 Human Geo AP from College Board. (Somewhere on the website, I don't know where.) It isn't too cheap though-- everyone in my class is chipping in so we can buy it.

yea, i just went on the side and ordered the exam and it costs 25 dollars, and when I get it I will look to compare it to the Barron's exam.
Thank you.
