AP Human Geography - Allowed to ask for definitions?

So… this is my first AP test and I am freaking out. When I took practice tests, there were some words that I didn’t know but were not like APHG vocab words (liek inextricably). During the exam, am I allowed to ask definitions for these kind of words or do I just have to use context clues to find out what the word means?

From what I’ve seen all the practice tests are written in basic English w/o the use of complex words aside from the vocab you need to know. During the test, I highly doubt your allowed to ask for definitions as its assumed you’re familiar with the meaning of these words. Collegeboard isn’t going testing your English skills; it’s testing your geographical knowledge. I highly doubt they’ll use they’ll use words you aren’t familiar with (if you’re a native speaker). However, if you do come across one try your best to use context clues and rudimentary grammatical skills to decipher the meaning.

I won’t even use the phrase “highly doubt.” The answer is no. The proctor cannot be an APHG teacher, so nobody could answer the question anyway.

You will not be able to ask questions on meaning of words. I suggest to my students to use the contextual clues. Also, you can write in the booklet with the questions. I encourage my students to rephrase what they can as they work out the reasoning and the choices.
