Im a junior in pre-ap english 3, but i was wondering if would be ok to take the ap lang test in may. Our teachers are making the class to where its nearly as difficult as an ap course. Any suggestions?

If you have an idea about the SAT critical reading section and if you are familiar with tackling comprehension passages , then i suggest taking the exam in may . All you need is a few multiple choice practice test and a lot of practice on 3 types of essays ( one of them would be familiar if you took the SAT)
Also , i recommend buying a prep book for the exam ( princeton or something)
Btw , i got a 4 on the exam

exam is hit or miss depending on each individual. but so long as study a few key “concept” vocabulary and have a little skill at writing and identifying persuasive BS and arguments, it pretty easy.

so I dont understand why it’d be a problem to take it. Just costs some $$$.

There is plenty of information available online and in books, so as long as you actually learn how to write the essays and learn a few terms, you should be fine. There is a certain strategy to writing the essay, so you definitely need to practice that and get used to not only the methodology but also the time constraints.
