Does anyone have any advice on which AP Latin it would be better (or easier) to take first? Our school doesn't offer either as a class, but it has a program called directed study where you can kind of study stuff with the teacher guiding you--my Latin teacher probably wouldn't be too much help though, and I don't want to get in over my head.

My school alternates them. I think poetry would be better than Vergil, but I kind of hate Vergil. A lot. I'm taking AP Latin III this year, and we're studying Ovid and Catullus.

I recommend studying AP Vergil first.

I recommend the opposite, literature first, but I guess it depends on whether you want to do more translating or more poetry analysis

don't hate vergil! he does have some hardcore metaphors though. :-/ i think vergil would be easier because it's more about poetry analysis and you read a lot of the work in english, not latin. i would compare the tests on collegeboard and decide which one you feel more comfortable with
