AP National Scholar

So I am reading about AP National Scholar.

I want to be able to put this on a college Application so that means I need to have taken 8 by the time I enter into Senior Year.

If I go as I am now, I will have completed 7 which means I am lacking 1. It is possible for me to sign up for 1 more AP for the spring semester.

So my question is, really, is being a AP National Scholar as a rising Senior very important? Worth the effort of taking 2 APs class online to get it.(Already doing 1 online)

In my state last year, only 82 rising seniors would have achieved this.

If you were me, would the extra 2 APs now (instead of senior year) be worth putting on that College app to make me really stand out? I am looking at top schools like Duke, Upenn. Or is "Scholar with Distinction" good enough?

Nope. It will not make or break your application, or affect it much. They will know that you can handle college-level work, but they already know that since you’ve taken 7 APs BEFORE senior year, which is crazy.

It’s kinda like the SAT: a 1560 will not help you more than a 1550. In AdComms eyes, it’s equal.

I just realized this thread is almost 4 years old. Oh well.
