I'm a junior planning my schedule for next year. I already have one dual enrollment (just a college writing course, nothing superbly impressive lol) credit, but I was wondering for next year: which looks better, AP credit or dual enrollment credit?
PS the dual enrollment would be at a (respected) community college. Does that make a difference?

It depends a lot on the classes you would be taking dual enrollment versus the classes you take at your high school. If you’re going to be taking public speaking at the community college instead of AP English, then AP English is better. If you’re deciding between AP Stats and multivariable calculus, then multivariable calculus is probably better.

Based on the fact that top schools generally only accept AP but not CC credits, I imagine AP is perceived as more rigorous.

It’s all relative to the schools, you have to ask them yourself. I e-mailed my school of choice about this and they said they regard the two as being within the same rigors.

I have a feeling there’s more to the reason as to why top schools only accept AP but not CC credits than being that they perceive AP as more rigorous… I don’t feel like thinking about it though… sleep time!
