I actually live in New York and did not need a VPN. I was able to get my scores at the normal time.
I took AP Physics 1 & 2 this year as a sophomore. I am disappointed, because while I got a 4 on Physics 2 (which is what I was expecting), I only got a 3 on Physics 1 (which i was expecting a 5 on). However, I am still very glad I took the classes, and would highly encourage other students to do the same, despite how disappointed I was with the Exam results.
Congrats on those who got 5! Unfortunately for me, I received a 3 (which all the school that I’m planning to go accept so yay!). However, I feel like this is such a poor reflection on me who is trying to pursue engineering? I think I understand the concepts, but my lack of familiarity with the style of the AP exam (in terms of MC questions especially) and how in class we mostly do math rather than concepts (which my fault, I should have researched more into this exam). Of course, there is no one to blame except me. With that being said, I’m planning to take Physics C next year just to redeem myself and continue w/that path. My question is how did you guys prepare for the Physics I (like what prep book, who, and how was your class structured, etc.)?
Edit: Also how are you guys planning to prep for Physics C?
@hwayajjin I got a 5 on both Physics 1 and 2. To prep, I just took a bunch of practice tests from previous years that our teacher gave us and went through what I got wrong. Also, our teacher gave us good notes and other sources. Furthermore, Khan Academy helped supplement things I struggled to understand.
Got a 4. Better than I thought considering I never studied hardcore like I did APUSH.
Was it a bad idea for me to take AP physics 1 the first year my school offered it? I’m taking AP physics 1 next year, it’s new at my school. Any advice? Also: I’m a little confused. Is AP physics 1 a combined class with physics 2? B/c my class is titled “AP physics 1”, although I do not know the actual material covered in the class.
This class was rough. My teacher was unprepared (we finished maybe 5 out of 8 units before the exam). I had to self-study electricity and waves, and for personal reasons could only start studying about 2 weeks before the exam. I used Khan Academy, a book from the Princeton Review, and study groups. In the end, I got a 4. Out of 7 AP tests, it’s the only one I didn’t get a 5 on, but I don’t care. All things considered, I’m proud of how I did.
Yeah, I did pret-ty bad. I got a 2. I was hoping for a 3 but… oh well. Just really wish I could see if it was a high 2 or low 2- that’s the thing I hate about AP scores. Congrats to everyone who did well!
Got a 3. At least I passed
I’m taking AP Physics 1 this year, but I’m essentially self studying. Does anybody know if the OpenStax book is good? And for those that used it, what chapters are included in the exam? I’m currently trying to map out the Big Ideas with the chapters… the teacher didn’t provide a course outline lol. Also, ppl who got 4s and 5s, please please please tell me any useful resources you used! So far I have Khan Academy and aplusphysics, in addition to a PR book. Thanks!
