I’m going into my junior year, and intend to take AP physics 1 next year, but I am a bit concerned that it does not cover the full material for the physics subject test. Seeing as I do not plan to take Biology or Chemistry subject tests it really is necessary that I take the Physics test. How hard is it to self study the remaining material on the sat physics test and get a high score (750-800)?
I took AP Physics 1 and at the end of the year took the subject test for physics and got a 760. Honestly, the subject tests are scaled in a much more forgiving way than the SAT 1, so getting a higher score means you can still get a fair amount wrong or omit a fair amount (as I did - omitting around 10). To go over the material not covered by the course I used the princeton review. It’s pretty comprehensive (don’t stress though - I really just read through and practiced the stuff I didn’t know a bit before taking the test). Good luck with junior year!
