AP Physics C and AP Science

I’m hoping to take AP Physics C during my senior year next year, but I doubt my school’s going to add it into its curriculum, so I’d have to take the course at local community college or something. The course at my local community college is 3 semesters long, so I’d only be able to take 2 semesters before the AP test. On top of that, I’m already taking math there and I don’t know if I could fit another course into my schedule.

That being said, should I self-study AP Physics C instead and take another AP science class at my school, or should I commit to working extra hard to take a class? I’m not really interested in any other AP science class my school offers (AP Bio and AP Environmental Science), but I don’t want to go through senior year without a science class.

Self studying doesn’t “count” as a class to an AO. Without knowing the content of the 3 semester CC course, 2 semesters may cover you for the AP exam if the third semester is optics and waves. Otherwise you should be OK for the mechanics portion and can self study any gaps in E&M (or just not take the E&M exam). But take a science class.

Seconding the idea of taking semester 1+2 at th community college.
