AP Physics Question

Next year will be the first year my school offers AP Physics, and it’s going to be Physics C: Mechanics.

As classes, I’m going to be taking AP Calculus AB, AP English Lit. and AP Physics C (I can’t take AP Spanish and AP AP Govt/Pol. because of stupid scheduling conflicts), should I self-study for Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, and possibly Physics B as well? Are the topics in C and B somewhat related? The course description of Physics B would seem much more to my interests as it says "“the B course provides a foundation in physics for students in the life sciences, premedicine, and some applied sciences, as well as other fields not directly related to science,” and I intend on majoring in biochemistry/doing pre-med.

Should I also self-study AP Gov’t and Politics as well?

In a nutshell: B covers more stuff, C goes more in depth.

Um, because it’s your first year with calculus, I’d take physics b only. The math in physics b only goes up to basic trig functions, but THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT IS AN EASY COURSE. It’s really really really hard, and I hate math, but I LOVED my physics class.

Physics c uses calculus. Today in my physics class we looked at some physics c frqs and just ONE part of the frq required you to use integrals, find the derivative, fine the antiderivative, and be exceptional in your knowledge of physics.

I’d say just take b, because there is no way you’ll do well in c without a strong foundation in physics, which is exactly what you’ll get in b.
