I'm considering take AP Physics next year but I haven't taken the regular Physics course before it, and was going to take just the Honors Physics course. However, I feel like maybe taking the AP Physics course would not only look better but not be that much harder?
I'm not sure, can someone enlighten me?

I took AP Physics (Well, AP/IB Physics) during my junior year w/o taking regular physics before. It’s certainly doable, but it might be hard to grasp some concepts at first, like Newtonian kinematics and electromagnetism. But if you work hard, you’ll be fine.

Best of luck!

It depends, are you taking Physics B or C?

B would be easier in my opinion because it’s really just concepts to grasp, but C is very math oriented. That may be a bit more difficult without getting the concepts grasped a year before so that you can begin incorporating calculus.

If it’s B you’ll probably be fine, if it’s C you’ll have more difficulty but it’s not impossible. Keep in mind you’ll need to have either taken calculus before though, or take it at the same time.

I took Physics C without being familiar with any of the concepts prior to the class. It was hard, but it’s doable. If you’re willing to put the effort in to learn at a fairly quick pace, then you can do fine.

Do colleges see AP Physics C better than B? I am planning on taking AP Phys this fall with Calc BC. I want to do pre-med in college, and since Physics isn’t really necessary, would it matter which Physics I take in high school?

I’m pretty sure that it does. Physics C is seen as much more math heavy and rigorous of a class than Physics B is. The only reason that I can see to take B is if you are not a strong math student or if you have not taken or are not currently taking calculus.
