I am currently in Magnet Physics, or what some would call honors Physics, and am doing well in that class. I had the option of taking AP physics B this year but chickened out when i heard that it was difficult, i know regret that decision because i've realized that it wouldn't have been very hard for me to do well in that class. So now my question is, is it absolutely essential for me to take Physics B before taking Physics C. I have the option of taking AP Physics C next year and am considering taking it. Just to add on, i am currently in Calc BC, and if i do take Physics C next year, at our school they pair that class with Multivariable and Differential Calculus, it is a sort of megablock deal. So would i be lost in Physics C or not. The stuff we cover in Physics now isn't hard, it is just that we move at a ridiculously slow pace.

You definitely don’t need Physics B to take Physics C. You should be fine, especially considering that you’ll be in Multivariable Calculus.

I suspect that the majority of people taking Physics C have not taken Physics B.

you’ll be fine taking Physics C.

Take them both if you really like physics. I’m doing it and have an A in both classes and I’m only in Calc AB.

You should be fine, especially since you have calculus under your belt. I’m taking Physics B right now and it’s hell [taking Pre-calc Honors this year]

If you have had some physics before (which you have) and you’ve got the calc background, you’ll be just fine. Absolutely fine; don’t worry about it all all.

if some noob like me is taking physics c as a first year course and surviving, you will be just fine. just make sure you are at least familiar with basic differentiation and integration ideas.

Take C because you won’t lose anything if you don’t take B.
