AP Psychology Study Group 2011

Uh, we aren’t allowed to outline??

Like, I answered it by writing [A. bullet: mult sentences that answer the question]. I read a post up there saying this is not allowed?!

No, you can. My teacher told us to.

Barron’s helped so much with a bunch of that. However, there were a few things on the MC I’ve never seen before. Pretty easy though, in my opinion.

The AP Psych test that I took last year wasn’t too bad. What type of stuff did they have on this year’s free response?

We can’t discuss for 48 hours. The MC was pretty easy with just a couple of weird ones, while the FRQ was pretty simple also with maybe 1 or 2 things I’ve forgotten. Needless to say, I’m shooting for a 5.

@patw17 You must be one of those people planted by the ETS to try and tempt us to break the rules. Not gonna happen, sister.

For people who are considering self-studying AP Psych, I would definitely recommend it. This was my first AP and I felt great about it. I just started reading Barron’s in early April, read some past FRQs yesterday, and took a few practice tests. Pretty simple for the most part.

I saw someone’s earlier post, was it really on stats. How awful???

I just wanna pass and i feel i did horrible! The mc was easy at first then ultra-hard! then the frq’s just killed me…

@TenebrousNight I took that advice when I signed up for both Psych and ES without a class. Needless to say, procrastination narrowed down by studying time to what I could fit in the past week. I was cramming to the max.

Last night, I was really regretting taking on two tests without forceful study (as one would experience, to some degree, in a formal course). Now, I’m glad I did it. I think it’ll be at least 4’s on both, but I’ve got higher hopes for Psych.

It was somewhat harder than I thought, but I still think I did really well.

@bes Yeah, well for me, I started early April, which means that I had time to take 4 practice tests and look over past FRQ’s before the actual test, so I feel pretty good.

MC was rape compared to the released tests (except maybe the audit…)… I accidentally skipped 4 which is the dumbest thing you can do now that there is no penalty… UGH… studying did help but there was so much on there that I never would have run into and my review books/teacher/cram packet didnt discuss… I still loved the course. My favorite in high school to date… The first FRQ was weird for me to grasp… I got at least 3 points… LOL… some of the stuff I could see examples in my head but not define… 2nd FRQ was definitely very fair and I nailed everything. It looks like it might be a 4… :(… I’m hoping there will be an easier curve since this test appeared harder than ones in the past, and the first FRQ struck me as a little esoteric though not in left field… Do you guys think ETS made the test harder to compensate for the lack of the guessing penalty?

statistics are a part of the ap psych curriculum, nothing too advanced really.

LOL you thought the mc was hard? there like 10 possibly difficult questions.

@besjbo- not quite an ETS person, but I can see why my question might make you think that I was one. LOL!!! Anyways, hope you did well on the test.

:( Don’t laugh at me… Our teacher taught us a LOT of stuff, but I have no idea how she would have fit all the stuff we didnt learn into the school year. Literally every class was jam-packed, so I won’t blame her… I may also be hard on myself because I was frustrated with running out of time and I know I did way better than my classmates.

This was me after reading the first FRQ: [YouTube - CAR EXPLODING](CAR EXPLODING - YouTube)

I literally had no previous knowledge of psych, read barrons yesterday for the 1st and only time, and I am pretty sure I got at least a 4, maybe a 5 if my educated guesses are right on the 20 or so MC I wasnt entirely sure about. I thought the FR was easy peasy, the terms were almost self-explanatory.

Pretty sure I got a 5 from talking about stuff yesterday on this thread, helped me review a lot…now to study for Euro… eff.
