who’s ready?

Not me! 10char

Has anyone taken the SparkNotes diagnostic test for ap psych? If so, is it fairly representational of what I may expect to see on the test tomorrow? I hope that it is the case, because I just got 46 out of 50 right.

609, what hs do you go to?

does anyone think we have to know what drugs cure what? barrons has info like that and it seems a little too much

I have a bad feeling about this test…I’m gonna fail ):

I was bore din 9th grade and took the sparknotes test and got a 2… Now I dont know how to reset it… anyone know how?

Just finished the 5 steps to a 5, 500 question book. After ch.4, the questions were VERY hard. I scored 87 on the released audit, 87 on the 1999 test, and 96 on the 2004 MC test, but had difficulty w/ this book… Just summed everything up and got a 71% (355/500 correct)… and noticed at least one mistake in the key… Anyone else deal with this book?

I have the 5 Steps to a 5 review book…is the “500 question book” something else? I have the regular review book, with 18 chapters, 2010-2011 edition.

Could someone please explain to me z scores?

is it worth it to look over diagrams of the brain?

diagram of brain is important… I have the lobes and parts down pat but the three divisions of the brain (fore/mid/hind brain) confuse me…

booooo. i’ve got the functions down but i know nothing about the locations.

Do we really have to know EVERY single part of the brain? I have the basic crap memorized, but not every single function/part.

also, does anybody know whether we lose points for incorrect answers on this exam?! my [unreliable] teacher says no, but my review book says yes.

you should be ok with the basics… i may be jinxing it here, but i have a feeling that functions/locations of the parts of the brain will probably only be covered on the multiple choice. i just don’t think that they would be evil enough to give us an essay question on that.

Supyall- no we don’t lose points for incorrect answers anymore. That was a change for this year. My book says we do also because it was published in 2010, and I’m guessing yours was too. Many prep books for this year were printed before CB announced the scoring change. You can look that up on the CB website if you want. All AP tests changed that this year- no guessing penalities!

Hey, does anyone here have any essay predictions that you have thought of, or that your teachers think will be it? Last year for APUSH, my teacher tried to predict essay Qs.

I feel fairly ready for this test, considering I’m self-studying it, but if anyone has essay predictions, that could still be helpful for me, and the rest of us on here.

Umm okay I am going to ask this again

** Could someone please explain z scores and p whatever to me?**

ZombieDante- both z and p are involved in research studies and the statistical measures.

yeah, z score is a standard score so that psychologists can compare scores that are on different scales, such as comparing a score on the SAT to AP tests, since SAT is out of 2400 and AP out of 5, so they need some sort of correlation type of thing so they can compare the 2.

p- I’m assuming you mean the statistical significance, which is notated as “p” which is the measure of likelihood that the difference between groups in the study was a real difference and not just from chance. the lower the p value, the less likely the results were due to chance.

Anybody here super confident they’re gonna get a 5?
