Are there any other AP Russian guinea pigs out there? I understand that the pilot test given yesterday was a total fiasco. I'm wondering if my daughter's school just got the bad end of the deal, or if others had the same disastrous experience.

how was it?

Wait there was the russian exam? How come they didnt allow me to take it? I thought that it was going to be offered from 2007!

^ I'm guessing that's why its the pilot test.. i wonder if they gave out AP japanese pilot yet. (<- i will fail but kinda wanted to take it)

It was a pilot and it is supposed to be done by computer. The students did not have to pay for the test but they also do not know if it will count for anything -- given yesterday's experience it probably won't. (In order to count, the College Board would have to approve it over the summer). My d. said that the computers froze up and the servers went down during the test, apparently because there were not enough servers to accommodate the load of however many students were taking the test -- and most of the students in her group could not complete the test. Apparently she could, so I don't know exactly what the hitch was.

ktoto - you would have to be in one of the pilot AP classes to have had the test. The whole thing is being developed by ACTR -- see:

We were hoping that even if not approved by College Board, we'd be able to get the test result report.

Anyway I posted the message because I didn't know whether the breakdown was isolated to some high schools or more widespread.
