This year I'll be taking AP Biology and AP World History. I also plan on taking the Biology and World History SAT subject tests. I plan on using Cliffs for AP Biology and PR for AP World History. For the SAT tests I plan on using PR for Bio and Barron's for world history. I plan on taking the exams on may 7th, right before the exams. How should I study? AP the subject tests? Or should I do both together? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Don’t study for AP there’s no point just focus on the SATs and well yeah maybe study for APs if you have time but I don’t think APs are that important compared to SATs.

You have to be joking…

Study for the AP exam, especially if you’re taking the class and plan on spending the $86 to take the exam. If you know everything on the AP exam, you’re set for the SAT II. While the SAT II exam is important for the sake of college admissions, the AP exam is just as important–if not more important–for college credit, and success on the AP exam will definitely influence the admission officers positively. The AP exam is more difficult and in depth than the SAT II. If you can do well on the AP, you’ll be set for the SAT II. However, this is probably not true the other way around.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear but my implication was that AP tests aren’t hard enough to warrant much studying in my opinion, especially if taken at the end of a course. Obviously, this will not apply to everyone, but isn’t it the point of asking questions like these to get others’ opinions and suggestions?

Amazing AP teacher = Little to no studying for AP exams
Mediocre or worse AP teacher = From spring break to the AP exam, life is consumed by studying

An AP exam is much more difficult than the SAT II exam in the same subject, and many teachers fall into the “Mediocre or worse AP teacher” category. Honestly, if you don’t need to study for the AP exam because your teacher is that good, you shouldn’t need to study for the SAT II.

Focus on the SAT IIs. They have great bearing on college admissions, while APs do not.

^But studying for the AP prepares you for the SAT II, but the opposite isn’t necessarily true.

Study both for sure, but make sure that you spend at least a few weeks(if not more), getting acquainted with the way the SAT II’s are written. I basically just studied for APUSH and didn’t study for the SAT II, thinking i’ll do as well. I didn’t. Also make sure to take several practice exams as always, and good luck :)

oh gawd.

you did what i just did this year.

took ap bio and did sat II for it, and it was incredibly easy. just rush. cuase i didnt have enough time cuase i was slow.

and the world history sat is like ten times harder than the ap exam, which was incredibly easy.
