hey i was wondering how well a person would do on an SAT II for a subject that they are taking the AP class in? i was thinkin about taking SAT IIs in may, around the same time i would be taking the AP exams for them (US Hist., Chem, and maybe Math IIC) im takin ap us history, ap chem, and pre-calc accelerated..i was wondering if there would be too much to study for the SAT IIs if i jus prepped a lot for the APs for those classes?? or would i do well (at least a 700) on the SAT IIs if i didnt study too much for them? thx in advance

In my personal experience, yes, if you are doing well in an AP class, you will probably be able to do fine in the corresponding SAT II test, especially when you take the SAT II's in May. Of course, take any advice here with a grain of salt, but here's what I did: I took APUSH, AP EngLang, and AP BC Calc last may, and took the US, Lit, and Math I SAT II's. I got all 5's, and my SAT II scores, respectively, were 780, 770, and 730. I realized after the fact that it would have been a better idea for me to take Math II at the time (I did eventually take it and recieved a 770). I basically did no outside studying for the SAT II's, and I did only moderate studying for the AP's (review packets + practice test(s) for US and Calc, nothing for EngLang). My caveats, as usual: I knew I was doing well in US, and am just naturally good at Lit (I walked into that test not even knowing that it had poetry on it. I don't recommend this! But it worked out okay for me).

Of course, not that I think that you were thinking this, but you have to be doing well and doing a decent amount of work for your AP tests for this to be a pretty sure deal for you. One of the reasons that I do/did very little studying for tests (SAT II/AP/in-class) is that I put real effort into essays and daily homework assignments. When you do the legwork, you don't need to study so much.

oo i c..thanks!!
