Since the AP report from The College Board only gives the total score for the exams taken, does anybody know if it's possible to learn the breakdown of each of the test categories (i.e. multiple choice score, FRQ/DBQ score, essay score, etc.)? Do the reports sent to the schools/teachers have the details, or do they get the same overall scores that the test takers receive?

No.

No.

Yes.

Well, the Instructional Planning Reports (or whatever they’re called) provide average MC/FR scores for a teacher’s students. If you had an extremely small class, you could possibly ask the teacher to see the report and extrapolate your scores from there. I’m not sure if your scores are given if you were the only one to take the exam.

Also, if your FR essay or something just so happens to be one of the randomly selected samples on AP Central, then you’d know your score for that essay/problem.

Also, they do release scoring guidelines and results around August, so you can see score distributions (percentages), and the average point value awarded for each FRQ response.
