For the past 2 years that I've taken AP exams, I've always sent my scores to University of Florida. Now that I'm a senior, I've been doing my research and at this point, I'm leaning towards Florida State instead of UF for many reasons. So my questions is should I pay the fee on AP central to send my scores to FSU right now as I'm sending in my application to them, or should I wait until the end of the year? When I called College Board they said that if I put that I want FSU to get my AP scores when I take my AP exams this year, they will get ALL of my AP scores from high school. That won't be until about May/June, though. So is it imperative that FSU gets these scores now as I'm sending in my admissions application, or can I wait until I take my senior year AP exams and just send them then?
Sorry, this sounds so confusing! Let me know if I should elaborate (:

I think that it would be fine to wait until after you take your AP exams in the spring. My daughter who is now at FSU had them sent after she took her senior AP exams. All of her cumulative scores from high school were sent on one report to FSU during the summer, and I don’t think any of this affected her admission decision from the previous fall. By the way, she was accepted to both UF and FSU, and she is very happy with her decision! Best of luck with your senior year and choices about your future.

Just wait. They do not need to see official scores for admission, and unofficial scores will be on your transcript if you go to an instate public HS. Good luck

Thanks for the advice and wishful thinking! I was considering UF all throughout high school before senior year simply because UF recieves all the credit for simply being gators and “awesome.” The more I’ve really looked into though, FSU seems much more personable and an awesome arts program. If you have any advice for a prospective student like me (the internet can only tell you so much and I am planning to visit FSU after the New Year) I would love to hear it!

Thanks again (:

What are you interested in studying? What is your background in terms of classes taken in HS?

I’m interested in majoring in English, but I plan on doing a double-major along with it. What that is, I have yet to discover haha. I know FSU is really strong in the creative writing department.
I’ve taken all the high-level classes that I could–basically, everything but math and sciences because they are not my forte. When I graduate, I will have taken 8 AP classes and 1 dual enrollment course. I am in the top 10% in terms of class rank. Hope this helps!

At FSU you can get up to 45 credits through examinations: AP, CLEP, etc.
