College credit for Freshmen. Not all Universities accept AP.

At selective colleges the admission committee looks at your academic performance in the context of the course rigor. Typically rigor in many high school translates to AP level courses. At least in the core subjects – i.e. english, language, math, science and history – taking AP classes and doing well in them gives you an advantage over someone who has taken less rigorous courses.

Sorry for the long preface. So if you take a bunch of AP courses AND you get a high grade in the AP exam (a 4 or a 5), that adds creditability to the rigor of the course you’ve taken. So when you consider taking AP courses, follow through with good grades and good AP results. Let the colleges know that you’ve taken the exam and that you’ve gotten a good grade. How can this not help your application?
