AP Scores

Hello, I'm going to be attending TU starting this Fall and was wondering if any of the other Freshmen have their AP scores listed in their academic history (this year, not previous) along with any college courses they took while in high school? I realize they probably get a ton of scores that have to be processed and put into a database, but I'd feel better knowing I'm not the only one yet.

Also tell me if I'm wrong but you would find your scores along with any other class you took under:

TU Portal > Self-Service Banner > Student > Student Records > Academic History

Or just clicking Academic History from the Student Tools tab of the Portal

Thanks and see you in August!

my kid did not take any AP courses but he did place out of freshman english. the only places i remember seeing proof of this were in the pie chart(I cant remember name of this) showing he had completed that gen ed requirment. and there are some other places in the portal regarding classes or courses noting this gened requirement was complete. if you are in honors, i would suggest calling them to see how and when AP scores are processed at Temple. if not in honors, they may still be good starting point as a lot of their kids would be in same position as you. also, when in orientation, the issue of using AP credits or retaking a course came up, esp in regard to premed kids. the theory was it could be VERY hard to jump into sophomore or junior chemistry if you placed out of freshman chem. i assume the importance of a solid GPA for premed was also at play here. so i;d look into that issue if you are premed or grad school bound in the sciences.

The DARs? I’ve been looking at that also and I imagine both that and academic history will be updated at roughly the same point (but I really have no clue).

I am honors, but not premed. My thing is that I want to finish my undergrad in 3 years because I want to get two masters degrees, so saving a year would cut back in the overall cost of college. I can almost certainly do this in theory with my AP and college credits, but it isn’t a definite I suppose.

I’m in EE with a concentration on computers. Luckily I don’t need to take any chemistry other than general so my AP Chem credit will apply fine. The main reasons I’m wondering about this is both to check and make sure I am looking in the right places, and because to be an MSRC tutor you need a copy of your academic history, which would inherently need the proof of taking the designated courses I want to tutor in and my credit for them, which I can’t show them yet.

get in touch with honors then and yes, the DARs sounds right. if you want to get through school in 3 years, then getting credit for the AP’s is crucial, not to mention the tutoring option. not sure honors can resolve this directly but they probably know who to direct you to, how long process should take, etc. I called them once and they spoke to me on the spot and are very receptive to the honors kids and parents.

My son called Admissions because his 2014 AP courses were not showing in his Academic History. They confirmed that they were received and are in the process of being reviewed. He was encouraged to contact them again if they were not there by the beginning of the semester.

Son’s 2014 AP-equivalent classes have been added to his student record.

My son had his AP scores but not transfer credit from other university he took some classes at in HS. The transcripts were sent last month. Anyone have any experience with this?
