Hey I already posted on this before, but maybe now somebody may be able to help me. If I got a 5 on the Chem AP and a 2 on the English AP, what should I report. When I called they said report whatever makes your file look best. My counselor said that it brings up questions to the readers when you take AP classes and dont report AP scores (its a requirement at my school to take the AP if you take the AP class)

Do you report both scores, good and bad?
Do you report the one good score and not report the bad one?
Do you not report either score?

Each way, it looks bad somehow but I am just wondering what all the Accepted EDers did or what the RDers are doing.

No. It's up to your school. If your school puts it on your transcipts, then, yea, they'll see it. In my case, I had a session with my counselor, and she just flat out asked me, "So, which scores do you want me to put on here." I told her, "all of them" and that's that. But I know kids from my school that...eh...left out 1s and 2s on their transcripts...

for my school, they dont put SAT, ACT, AP, any of that stuff on your transcript, the only way they can legally find out is if I have scores sent or I tell them on my app or if I give my counselor permission

Ok Pman. I actually took like two AP classes during Sophomore year for the hell of it...one was like the "IB prereq" thing in my school, and AP physics...I just wanted to take it. But I didn't take the tests. So I asked my rep if, you know, it is gonna look fishy if I took like two other AP classes with no scores, and he was like, "no. Don't worry about it. It's perfectly fine." I think the very basic answer is that, putting down a three won't do anything, getting 4s and 5s will def. be good, but anything below a 3...is...er...below a three, and I would recommend you to leave it out. But your situation is different from mine because I go to a rather crappy hs where it's not a "rule" to take the AP Test after the class, and I think my counselor made clear of that on the rec. And also, I took three APs in one year, got nice scores, and reported all of them to Penn...I think that assured my rep that nothing was wrong w. my scores.

I took two ap's junior year, and got a 3 on both, didn't report the scores and just got in ed, so i dont think it matters all that much whether or not you send.

yeah i got into the college and only took 1 AP class junior year and reported that cause it was a 5... cause that's the only thing you get credit for anyways.... and i got a 4 on another one and didnt report it cause i thought it looked bad.... i also think im awesome cause i got away with taking only one AP class junior year. like is that unheard of or what. mm altho i did max em out this year, and my sweet 4.0 at Penn makes it seem like im not a total slacker/ crack addict

so keep the blood in your head... and keep your feet on the ground...

Yeah ... well I have a 4.0 at UCLA! I don't want to transfer my credits, because Penn classes are different and I'll just get easy As taking calculus and physics again, please G-d.

I reported all my AP scores, the only 4 I had was for English Language, but I never took the actual AP class, so I thought that would look good. I took 1 in 10th, 2 in 11th (but 3 tests), and 5 this year.

we saw the western coast ... I saw the hospital ... nurse the shoreline like a wound

and these are the words you wish you wrote down... this is the way you wish your voice sounds... handsome and smart....ohhh my tongue's the only muscle on my body that works harder than my heart... and it's all from watching TV...and from speeding up my breathing....
WOULDN'T STOP IF I COULD.... OH IT HURTS TO BE THIS GOOD.....

I had a 2 on my Calc BC test, so I asked the Pton rep (who is also an adcom) that came flat out whether or not I should report it. She said that its up to me, and that Princeton doesnt factor APs into admissions, that they dont compare scores, and that if they see a national AP scholar, they're like, "Good for you. We dont care." However im sure it might reflect on what kind of student one is, cause they do see it, afterall. I'm not sure whether it applies to Penn or the other Ivies, but for the sake of honesty I'm reporting my 2 on both apps with pride.

mm i dunno... i wouldn't be proud.... the purpose of an application is to present yourself as the most compelling candidate possible. it wouldnt be dishonest to omit AP scores. theyd prolly notice them and be like "hmm thats odd... those are horrible scores... so why did he want us to see these?"

lol im not exactly proud of it, but it does represent how i did. to me, its just the most honest thing to do. otherwise they might be "he took the class, so why didnt he take the test?"

I was so nervous after my BC calc test. Because of swim team, my eyes started acting up. This had been going on for like a month before. Optomitrists had no clue what was happening. My eyes were watery and really red and I could hardly keep them open. For my other AP tests they were fine. During the MC my eyes were fine and I finished each section with like 10 minutes to spare. Then during the FR my eyes started dying and I could hardly keep them open, so I hardly got to the last 2 FRQs. Luckily, I'm guessing what I did before that made up for it.

you seem so out of context....
in this gaudy apartment complex...
a stranger with your doorkey...explaining that i am just visiting....
and i am finally seeing
that i was the one worth leaving

stoned<<<pandy i dont think toking up before ur ap tests is the best way to prepare....
altho, my psych prof told our class that if u are always high during the lecture u should smoke before the midterm/final cause it aids with recall - contextual cues and such

yeah, i think it's called state dependant memory. i don't remember the exact term if that isn't it -- we learned it in AP psych. Basically, you remember things when you're drunk that happened to you the last time you were drunk but that you forgot inbetween.

thanks for all the help. are any of you guys who reported some scores and not others from prep schools where taking the AP is required, in which case it might look suspicious.
