DO you have to self-report all of your AP scores? I don't really want to report a 2 in Spanish. Is that fine, or would I be better off reporting it?

Thanks in Advance.

My feeling is that if you took the AP class and don't report the score the college is free to assume you got a 1. However if you self studied for an AP, I see no reason to feel obliged to report the score.

No, you don't. Just write the scores that you want to show them in the additional info section of the common app. IF you write at lest five scores (the maximum # of spaces) they can't really infer at all what your other scores were. Besides, fom what i've heard, APscores play a pretty much insignificant role in admissions.

i think it depends on what your score was. if it was a 3 or above, definitely report it. if you got a 2, you might want to consider it because if you don't they might think you got a 1. if you did actually get a 1, don't report it ever. thats like, the world's worst idea. lol.

Poisonous: you say that there are only five spots for AP scores?

Also, wouldn't they know if you don't report a score from looking at your high school transcript and seeing what AP classes you took and what scores you reported?

There were a few AP classes on my transcript that I didn't take the corresponding AP tests for. When I realized that I only needed 5s on 4 AP tests to qualify for advanced standing, I just cancelled three of my senior year tests (ones that I still had time to cancel).

@Oglita:

For advance standing don't you need 4 scores of 5 on certain tests? I was looking it up and even though I have 4 5's already, some of them didn't even count, or only counted for half of a point towards advance standing.

@Walton12

Yea, there are 5 spots for "Additional Information" (or something like that) on the CommonAPP, which is where you would write in your AP scores. Of course you could write more than one in each space, but if you wanted to omit some, then you just make it look like you thought you could only report one per line. Tricky, eh?

Poisonous

but don't most people send addendums that list all their ECs, and all their scores?
